Mayor of Ely, Councillor Richard Hobbs, donned a hi-vis jacket and hard hat to help lay the building blocks of McCarthy and Stone’s new Retirement Living Plus development in Ely.

Cllr Hobbs joined Tony Wilkinson, McCarthy and Stone site manager for the forthcoming Roslyn Court development, on a tour of the site.

The development on Lisle Lane, Roslyn Court will comprise of 58 one and two-bedroom independent living apartments which are designed for the over 70s.

Cllr Hobbs said: “It was a pleasure to visit McCarthy and Stone’s new Ely development.

“Living independently and securely is so important.

“And, with an ageing population, it is reassuring to see developments like this emerging within the constituency, which will help local residents maintain their lifestyle with ease.”
