Children from Rainbow Pre-school visited Ely Police Station to find out what life in the police force is really like.

Nineteen children from the Downham Road pre-school went to the station, where officers told them about how the police can help them if they are lost, and about their role in the community.

Sophie Paterson, manager of the pre-school, said: "We're trying to build links with the outside community and we thought it would be nice if the children visited the police station."

"We wanted to dispel the fear some of the children have of the police and show them that they are good people."
