New March housing development will see buyers become “partner developers” as all homes will have triple glazing and solar panels
A new development in March which will see houses built with triple glazing and solar panels could add up to £20,000 to their value.
The large plot of land in Elliot Road has been taken over by Cambridgeshire-based Osprey Developments who aim to build “a unique development that puts homeowners first”.
Osprey say that they will work alongside buyers who will become “partner developers” in choosing how they want their homes to be built.
The development’s projected figures allow for, on average, a £20,000 value added for homeowners as compared with neighbouring developments.
Director of Osprey, Martyn Randall, said: “We are very excited to bring this style of development to March. Our new home owners become partner developers.
“We work with them from the outset to custom build their plot, so they achieve exactly what they need for their family now and future proof their homes.
“These residences come with triple glazing and solar panels as standard, with the build exceeding sustainability targets set by the government.”
He continued: “Not only will this development create much needed high-quality building stock in the town, but local businesses are benefitting also.
“March-based contractor, Simon Rutterford and Sons, have been engaged to do all of the ground works and the custom build plots.”
The site has now been cleared and former occupants Davern Workwear relocated to more suitable premises north of the town.
Mr Rutterford said: “The team have been looking forward to this project, its great working with a national company like Osprey Developments who do not make boxes like your bog-standard developer - they want to create a community.”
Those interested are invited to meet the team on-site on November 10 and 11.
Discounts will also be offered to those who reserve plots on the day.
The team will be able to explain the design process and mortgage opportunities that allow the homeowner to stay at their current residence during construction.
