Malcolm Bennett raised almost £2,000 for premature baby charity BLISS by completing the London Marathon.

BLISS helps support families and funds research for special care babies and those who are born prematurely.

The charity has a special significance for Malcolm and his wife Andrea of Ely as the couple’s daughter, Amy, and son, Jamie, were both born prematurely, weighing just 2lb 10oz and 4lb 3oz respectively.

The couple spent a lot of time in neo-natal care and received support with both of their children, which inspired them to give something back.

And, on Sunday, Malcolm completed the marathon in 4hrs 11minutes and helped to raise almost £2,000.

Andrea, who works in Tesco, in Ely, has also helped boost the total by holding car boot sales, cake stalls and managing collection tins.
