The robbery, which happened at NatWest, Market Street at around 2pm, saw the man demand money and leave with the cash.

The robber is described as having a pale, reddish complexion, in his 50s, and more than six foot.

He was carrying a small black shoulder bag.

Police have also released CCTV images of a man they want to trace in connection.

DC Sean Denby, from the serious crime team and Parkside Police Station, said: “No weapons were seen, however, the robber made threats to hurt staff should they not take his demands seriously so I would encourage anyone who knows who this man is not to approach him but to call police.

“I would ask anyone who has any information about this crime and particularly the identity of the robbery to contact us.”

Anyone with information should contact DC Denby on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111, or via www.crimestoppers-uk.org
