A MAN suspected of causing a train accident at Littleport has been given bail.

The 22-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, allegedly drove onto the railway track at Padnal Bank whilst the barriers were down and spun his car away from the oncoming King's Lynn train, in October at 11.30pm.

The man was arrested after being treated at Addenbrooke's Hospital under suspicion of driving while drunk and under the influence of drugs, endangering the railway and dangerous driving.

He will answer bail at Parkside Police Station in Cambridge on February 2.
