The M11 southbound carriageway will remain closed until later this evening following a fatal car fire where a man died.

Police and other emergency services attended after a report of a car on fire near junction 12, just after Barton, at around 8.10am.

A police spokesman said: “The carriageway has been closed from junction 12, however that closure will be moved back to junction 14 from around 4pm. Motorists should follow diamond signs for the diversion, which will go via the A14.

“Anyone who saw the incident should contact police on 101.”

There is no indication at this time of a collision taking place or any other vehicles being involved.
