A MAN who sexually abused a teenage girl in a Cambridgeshire village has been jailed.

Ross Daines, 21, arranged regular meetings with the teenager after befriending her at a skate park in the village.

He would drive her to a supermarket car park where the abuse took place between October and December, last year.

Daines was arrested after the victim told her parents.

Daines, of Appletrees, Bar Hill, pleaded guilty to sexual activity with a girl aged between 13 and 15, and was jailed for 21 months at Cambridge Crown Court on Friday (April 15).

Detective Constable Paul Evans said: “Daines was well aware how old the girl was but continued to pursue her for a sexual relationship.

“This case should send a strong message that anyone caught taking advantage of underage girls will be dealt with robustly and faces prison.”
