AN Ely man charged with possessing a wheel brace as an offensive weapon, and causing actual bodily harm, is to face trial at Cambridge Crown Court.
Karl Sims, 25, of Downham Road, is alleged to have been in possession of the brace in Windmill Close in Ely on June 13; and injured Paul Green on the same date. He is also accused of affray.
Ely magistrates declined jurisdiction over the case on Thursday, and adjourned the proceedings until September 17, for a committal hearing. Sims was given unconditional bail.
