SPEEDER Andrew Blackwell has been fined £225 for driving at 51 mph along Swaffham Road in Burwell, where there is a 30 mph limit in force.

Research psychologist Blackwell, 34, of Bourneys Farm, Willingham, told Ely magistrates he was on his way to an important meeting at Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge at the time of the offence.

He was fined £225 with £35 costs and a £15 surcharge, and six points were endorsed on his licence.
