A MAN in his 40s collapsed and died in Ely today.
The man, who is believed to have suffered a cardiac arrest, was discovered by a member of the public in West Fen Road at the heart of the city at about 9am.
An air ambulance was dispatched to the scene along with a land ambulance crew and a MAGPAS medical team, with paramedics attempting to revive the man using CPR after arriving at the scene.
Despite repeated efforts to revive the man however, he was pronounced dead at 10am. Police were called to assist ambulance crews at the incident but a spokesman confirmed that they were not treating the death as suspicious.
