A 20-year-old man has denied being in possession of Cllr Bill Hunt's cabin cruiser called Lady Jennifer, in contravention of the Proceeds of Crime Act.
It is alleged that Sam Coleby acquired, used or had possession of criminal property, namely the boat, at Chettisham on September 11 last year.
Cllr Hunt, who represents Stretham on East Cambridgeshire District Council, and represents Haddenham and Wilburton on Cambridgeshire County Council, had owned the boat for 16 years.
Coleby, of Victoria Street, Littleport, is to face a trial before Ely magistrates on June 18, and the court will hold a pre-trial hearing on April 30.
