A man had to be cut free from a car following a collision on Downham Road, in Ely, on Sunday.

The incident happened at about midday with three fire crews called to a stretch of the road near it’s junction with Ely Rugby Club.

Firefighters used cutting equipment to remove the roof of a vehicle and rescue a man, who was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, in Cambridge.

He was treated for minor injuries.
