POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked with a knife in Burwell.
POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked with a knife in Burwell.
The 26-year-old victim was walking through an alleyway off Silver Street, in the village near Cambridge, when he was approached by a man who asked him for a light.
The attacker then hit him with what is believed to have been a knife. The victim managed to run off and only received slight injuries.
Detective Constable Gayle Dabney said: “This was an unprovoked attack and has left the victim very shaken.
“It was lucky that he did not receive more serious injuries and I would urge anyone with information about the attacker to contact police.”
The offender is described as black, about 6 foot 5 inches tall and of stocky build. He was wearing a white zip-up hooded top.
