Man and woman killed in crash near Bottisham named

A man and a woman who died in a crash on Newmarket Road, Bottisham, have been named by police.

Kubaeb Asad, 21, of Whitehill Road in Cambridge and Rumena Begum, 21, of Darwin Drive, Cambridge, were killed when the blue Vauxhall Corsa they were travelling in was involved in a collision with two other vehicles yesterday afternoon (March 2) on the A1303.

The other vehicles involved in the collision were a Mercedes refuse lorry and a white Renault Kangoo.

The driver of the refuse lorry, a man in his 50s from Suffolk, was treated in hospital for minor injuries and later released.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact the road policing unit on 101.
