FURIOUS that his partner had refused to come home in the early hours of the morning, Martin Quince slapped Sadie Fuller and then scooped her up, and carried her back to their flat.
The couple had argued when Miss Fuller had wanted to stay at a neighbour's flat to watch videos, Ely magistrates were told on Thursday.
Quince had tried to insist that she return home, and in the following argument, Miss Fuller slapped Quince, and he retaliated, said prosecutor Yetunde Fawehinmi.
Quince, 25, of Wisbech Road, Littleport, had previously denied assault, but changed his plea before the trial was due to start.
"He thought something was going on between his partner and the neighbour," explained solicitor Sandeep Kainth.
Sentencing was adjourned for a pre-sentence report.
