A 48-year-old man has been charged with gross negligent manslaughter in connection with an industrial accident in Kennet earlier this year.
Michael Turner, of Parley Beams Cottages, Earls Colne, Colchester, was released on police bail following his arrest and charge and will appear at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (November 28).
Police were called to reports that a man had died in an industrial accident at a property in Station Road, Kennet, near Fordham, on May 20.
Robert Bird, 57, of Mersey Road, Colchester, died from severe multiple traumatic injuries in Station Road after falling from a roof he was working on.
A joint investigation into the death is being carried out by police and the Health and Safety Executive.
