Detectives at Ely Police station took on the sharp end of operations when a five-week knife amnesty turned up a variety of weapons from the city's streets. Operation Bladestop was launched to coincide with a national amnesty and across the division a total of 571 knives were handed in. These included 335 domestic knives and 210 weapons.
