MAGISTRATES have refused to relax Mark Brown's curfew order, so he can attend his grandparents' golden wedding anniversary party.
Twenty-eight-year-old Brown was given a six-month curfew back in July for an offence of possessing cocaine - and under the order he has to stay at home every night between 8pm and 6am.
Appearing at Ely courthouse on Thursday, Brown, of Station Road, Soham, asked the court to lift his curfew on October 30 and November 1, so he could go to the party in Newcastle.
"I would appreciate it, I do not get to see them very often," he said.
Turning down the application, presiding magistrate Bryant Watson told Brown: "The seriousness of the offence means we will not vary the curfew.
