THE University of Kentucky Women’s Choir will perform a lunchtime concert in Ely Cathedral on Friday June 15.

Their visit to the Ship of the Fens is part of a 10-day tour of the British Isles; and the choir will perform part of their wide repertoire, from Gregorian chant to six part music from the 21st century.

With an emphasis on music by female composers, the 70-strong choir performs works in many different languages and compositional forms. The singers range from freshmen to graduate students, representing a variety of musical backgrounds and academic disciplines.

The concert in Ely Cathedral at 1.10pm is free, but normal admission charges to the cathedral apply.
