OOPS! THE postbox in Ely High Street was put out of action this week, after it was hit by a passing lorry and knocked over.
Royal Mail spokesperson Sally Hopkins said: “We can confirm a lorry damaged one of our post boxes in Ely High Street on the evening of 15 December.
“The mail had been collected from it so there was no mail in it at the time. The box has been removed and is now being repaired. We are hopeful that we will be able to re-install it very soon.
“We apologise to customers for any inconvenience this may cause. In the meantime customers can use other postboxes in the area or of course drop their mail into any Post Office branch.”
