A 15-year-old girl suffered serious head injuries following a collision with a lorry on the busy A10 this morning (Monday).

Police and ambulance crews were called to Ely Road, near Little Thetford, at about 7.45am to reports that a lorry had collided with the teenager, who was rushed to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.

The fire service said crews attended the scene following reports that the woman had become trapped under the vehicle but confirmed that she had already been freed by the time firefighters arrived.

The Highways Agency was contacted and there were delays on the road in both directions after a partial road closure was put in place.
