A Swaffham Bulbeck charity which provides services to autistic and disabled people has thanked its volunteers following a successful National Volunteers’ Week.

Clients with learning disabilities at Red2Green worked together to produce and display a thank-you banner after the national event.

Julia Rutherford, marketing manager, said: “We are lucky enough to have some amazing volunteers.

“Amongst other things they help people with learning disabilities to take part in a range of exciting activities, gain life skills that really make a difference, drive our mini buses, take part in fundraising activities and help lead our charity as part of our board of trustees.

“But our volunteers tell us they also get a lot out of volunteering”.

Elly Datson started volunteering with Red2Green in January and raised more than £900 by skydiving and hosting a coffee morning for the charity.

She said: “It was the best move I could ever have made. It has inspired me to hone my skills towards a future in dramatherapy where I can help people who are on the autistic spectrum and/or who struggle with their mental health.”
