Ancient artefacts fascinated young visitors to Ely Library last Saturday when a Children's Archaeology Day took place. Youngsters took part in a whole host of different activities including recreating ancient pottery and making a model of an Iron Age house. They were given the chance to meet a Roman soldier and find out more about Celtic cookery. The event was organised by Cambridgeshire County Council's archaeological field unit and the county library service.
