PUPILS at Littleport Village College Primary School raised almost 500 for Macmillan, Cancer Support when they took part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event on Friday.

Two year 6 classes, Kingfishers and Eagles, welcomed family and friends to a coffee morning they had organised in school.

Teaching assistant Debra Duffield said: “The children raised a record breaking 498.10, the most we have ever raised in the four or five years we have held these events.

“The children worked really hard, meeting and greeting, serving refreshments and doing all the washing up. They did everything themselves, and also ran a raffle and cake stall. We are really proud of their efforts.”
