Liz Smith, service manager at The Gables, fought off competition from over 5,500 Consensus employees to win the award at the Caring Homes Group Recognition Awards last week.

She came out on top following a review of over 3,000 nominations from colleagues and received her award at a ceremony hosted by former Boyzone star Ronan Keating at the Grove Hotel in Watford.

Mark Whiteley, operations manager, said; “Liz is the definition of excellence in the field of nursing. Her unwavering effort is unique and her dedication deserves formal recognition.

“Liz has also recently been shortlisted for a second year running in the National learning disabilities and autism awards.”

Liz has been a qualified nurse since 1971, working in a variety of fields including emergency nursing. She completed her QCF 5 in Leadership and management qualification last year.
