The Littleport Flower Arrangement Club met at the village hall on Friday evening for its Christmas Open Meeting and Mrs Pam Hayes, the chairman welcomed both Mrs Sue Brinton, Area Chairman of East of England of NAFAS, and Mrs Sheila Kyte, the Cambridge Group Chairman. The demonstrator was Mr Jonathan Moseley from Dronfield. His title, "Christmas Concepts", proved to be apt as it enveloped a wide array of designs, colours and styles. Candy

stripe amaryllis were used in stone urns with fatsia and italicum pictum leaves combined with holly giving a traditional feel with a modern twist. This was followed by the use of some exotic material including heliconiums and phormium leaves all combined with a tall, gold beaded container. Every design was twinned with another that had been completed by Jonathan earlier in the day to create a stunning display, filling the entire stage. A large design of clashing colours of orange, shocking pink, and red, filled a large gold basket mixed with giant seed heads in sprayed gold. Pink baubles adorned the finished design to vibrant effect. Roses, gerbera and bubble gum pink anthuriums were also used to devastating effect. Chocolate coloured

anthuriums and red gerbera combined with a cherub adorned urn was the final arrangement, this time put with two other large complementary designs ranging in size. Jonathan was thanked for his amusing anecdotes, his amazing designs and an evening of Christmas entertainment by Mrs Elizabeth Miller, vice chairman for the club. A buffet supper followed allowing the audience the chance to view all of the designs more closely. The club's next meeting is a practical evening on Friday, December 16 at the Littleport Village Hall.
