Sigma Embroidery & Printing Company in Littleport welcomed local businesses, clients and residents to their open day on Thursday.

The event, held at their premises in Main Street, was extremely well attended said a company spokesman.

Visitors browsed samples of their work and viewed Sigma’s newly purchased twin headed embroidery machine and set of magnetic frames, which were funded by an EU grant via the Cambridgeshire Fens LEADER programme.

The new machines are enabling Sigma to fulfil orders from clients from as far as Somerset and Birmingham.

Owner Kim Oakhill said: “Just recently we finished off an order of over 1,000 items for a removal company in Mildenhall, and we can now continue to take on larger jobs, and open our doors to more businesses.”
