Littleport Parish Council chamber was transformed into an art gallery last weekend as The Littleport Society held an exhibition.

Five local artists, who spoke to visitors about their creations on the day, showcased their paintings and ornamental craft work.

“There was a steady stream of visitors admiring the variety of paintings and ornamental craft work on display,” said Lyn Gibb-de Swarte.

“Magenta Kang, one of the exhibitors, is making a studio and gallery at her new home in Littleport. She is currently exhibiting in the South Korean embassy, and will exhibit at Ely Cathedral.

“Sukie Rix already has her glass workshop and studio, Wind-eye, in the grounds of her Littleport house.

“John Lyons is the multi-talented poet, writer and painter, that a good wind blew into Littleport, and apart from other accolades, he won the Windrush Arts Achiever Award in 2003.

“Fiona Lidgey Robinson’s mixed media work attracted a lot of interest, and Victoria Hunt’s compelling paintings were an obvious pleasure to look at for browsers.”
