The head teacher of Little Thetford Primary School hailed a record-breaking year for his pupils in the sporting arena.
Rob Litten said that despite being one of the smallest primary schools in the county, his pupils had made it through to county finals in tag rugby, netball, hockey and football, as well as winning the East Cambridgeshire Youth Games.
Mr Litten said: “2014 was an amazing year for the school because we qualified for a series of county finals, which means we are in the top 10 of 240 primary schools in the county. We are just on fire at the moment.”
Mr Litten said the key to the school’s success came in the pre and post-school coaching sessions, with the head teacher himself dusting off his sport shorts to teach hockey and tag rugby.
“The children deserve so much credit for what they have achieved. We are the school to beat,” he added.
