Bollywood dancing and Q&A session as children and families minister visits Little Thetford Primary School

PUBLISHED: 10:34 22 June 2018

Children at Little Thetford Primary School were visited by Nadhim Zahawi, parliamentary under-secretary of state for children and families yesterday (June 21).

As the school is within the East Cambs and Fenland ‘opportunity area’, the minister visited to find out the impact that the additional funding is having on the school.

Minister Zahawi attended a school assembly and heard about what children had been learning around the value of respect.

The children also performed a Bollywood dance routine to the visitors, which they had learnt during their international day which took place on Monday.

The school council then got the chance to ask the minister some questions about his role.

Head teacher Jonny Wallace said: “It was a fantastic opportunity for our children to meet the minister and an enjoyable experience for all.”

The visit comes after the Government announced £6 million of shared funding – separate to any other income streams – for schools across Fenland and East Cambridgeshire - to spend between now and 2020.
