A MAN who exposed himself to staff at Littleport library has been placed on the Sex Offender's Register for five years.

David Hewitt was originally sentenced for the offence last month - but Ely magistrates had failed to tell him that he must register with the police.

On Thursday the case was re-opened, and Hewitt, of Ryston Road, Denver, had his sentence spelled out to him again.

He has been given a three-year community order, with a condition to attend the Thames Valley sex offenders' programme.

While on the Sex Offender's Register, Hewitt must notify the police of his name, address and date of birth. He must also inform them of any change of address or period of more than 14 days spent away from home.

Hewitt had admitted three offences of exposure, and asked for 20 similar offences to be taken into consideration.
