When the snow fell, several homes in Haddenham were visited by more than half a dozen fieldfares at a time.
Six took residence in my garden and where these birds are usually shy visitors eating berries from hedgerows, these appeared to be starving.
They fought over apples thrown out and drove all the resident blackbirds away and generally fought each other.
