Wartime air crew, families and friends staged a Rememberance Day service at the war memorial on Witchford's old airfield, now the site of the Lancaster Way Business Park. The airfield was the base for the 115 Squadron, many of whom were killed during the Second World War.

Two young air cadets from the Ely Air Training Corps also joined the service conducted by the Rev Teresa Dixon. Among those attending and laying wreaths were squadron president, Frank Leatherdale, gunner, Jim Mcgillevery and pilot, Aubry Howell.

One family travelled from Lancaster to attend the service and trace details of an uncle, Gordon Saville, who was the wireless operator on the last aeroplane lost from the base.Next Meeting
