DRIVING a car in Ness Road at Burwell without insurance or a full licence has led to learner driver Paul Lewin being fined a total of £700.

Lewin, 51, of Uxbridge, Middlesex, was convicted of both offences by Ely magistrates on Thursday.

He was fined £525 for having no insurance, and another £175 for driving not in accordance with his provisional licence, by failing to display L-plates. Six points were endorsed on his driving record, and he has to pay a £15 surcharge and £85 costs.
