A 71-year-old learner caught driving without insurance twice within three months has been banned from the road for six months.
Frederick Smith told Ely magistrates on Thursday that his wife had left him because of the offences, and he had given up learning to drive. Smith, of Sheriffs Court, Burrough Green, admitted driving without insurance and not in accordance with his provisional licence on October 14 last year and January 17 this year.
He was fined total of £400 and told to pay £35 costs.
