STAFF at Kids Club Ely were due to hold a fun run yesterday in memory of a playworker who lost his fight against leukaemia last year.

Jamie Wilson, 19, worked as a playworker in the after-school and holiday clubs and has been praised by staff for his humour, kindness and dedication.

The fun run was at Ely St John's School, where staff at the group and friends of Mr Wilson were running 26 laps of the school playing field.

Half of the money they raise at the run will be donated to Children With Leukaemia and the other half will be used by Kids Club Ely to buy play equipment in Mr Wilson's memory.

INFO: You can make a donation to the fun run by e-mailing Kids Club Ely at kids.club.ely@ntlworld.com or by calling 07833 680415.
