A LITTLEPORT publican was robbed in broad daylight as he took hundreds of pounds worth of takings to the bank.
The licensee of the Crown Inn on Main Street was walking along the side of the Co-op store when a thief grabbed the white cloth bag on Tuesday morning.
The robber jumped over a wall to escape, leaving his victim shocked but unhurt.
Now police have launched an appeal for witnesses to the robbery which happened just before 10.40am.
The thief was described as white, of medium build, wearing a white hooded top with a baseball cap underneath and dark jeans.
Ely Police detective constable Terry Bandoo said: "This offence took place in broad daylight and I am appealing for anyone in Main Street at the time who may have seen anything.
