A black-tie dinner and auction raised £10,000 for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices.
The event took place last Friday at the Lady Chapel, in Ely Cathedral, and was organised by the mayor of Ely, Councillor Lis Every, and her husband Colin, a businessman.
The event featured a talk by former Conservative minister and author Jeffrey Archer and an auction was carried out by celebrity auctioneer David Palmer, a regular on BBC TV series, Flog It!
The hospice was chosen by Cllr Every as her mayoral charity for her year in office.
