The Bishop's Palace in King's Ely will be transformed when it hosts a free exhibition titled Kaleidoscope this weekend.

Showcasing the work of Old Eleans who have become internationally-renowned artists and makers, the display will “reflect the diversity of creative talent that has emerged from King’s Ely in the last 50 years.”

Among the artists exhibiting are Aubrey Powell, Edward Waites, Charlie James, Cassie Hone and Alex Allpress.

Jeanie Schaniel, who taught art at King’s Ely Junior, came up with the idea for the show having stayed in touch with many of her pupils over the years.

She said: “I wanted to celebrate their success as well as provide inspiration to current students who may be considering a creative career.”

The show will feature fine art, photography, graphic design, sculpture, textiles, jewellery and more.

It is open to the public on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 October from 10am to 4pm in the Bishop’s Palace.
