The King's Barbers, the close-harmony group of former choristers who are all pupils at the King's School Ely, will feature in a fundraising concert at St Mary's Church, Ely on Saturday at 7.30pm.

Entry is free but there will be a retiring collection in aid of East Anglian Children's Hospices.

This will be the latest in a host of charity concerts given by the King's Barbers and their director, Peter North, who have twice travelled to Thailand to support charities in south-east Asia.

The concert at St Mary's Church is being organised by Alternative Medicine, three doctors who sing together under the tuition of Vanessa Scott. Their programme will include popular songs from Mozart to Ivor Novello.

The evening will also include dance from Spiritus, the Ely-based Lantern Dance Theatre Company.

Sally Diss, one of the members of Alternative Medicine, said: "We are calling the concert Alternative Medicine and Friends so we hope to see friends old and new on the night and raise as much as we can for a very worthwhile cause.
