Visitors to the Atrium Club in Ely can breathe easily after the city fitness centre was presented with a Clean Air Award this week.
The Newnham Street club was presented with the accolade in recognition of its no-smoking policy, which it has implemented since it opened 15 years ago.
The National Clean Air Award - a Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation intiative - is the first UK wide scheme that rewards employers who implement effective workplace no-smoking policies by giving them a prestigious nationally recognised award and provides them with guidance to help them get their policy right.
Steve Bradley, general manager at the Atrium, said: "We've been here close to 15 years and always had a no-smoking policy so it's nice to be recognised for it."
