PUPILS at Sutton Primary School began their Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Celebrations early when they all received a commemorative Jubilee medal.

During a school assembly, village town crier Cyril Redding and members of the Sutton Jubilee Committee presented the medals to the pupils.

It was also announced that Year 6 pupil Ryan Wayman had won the Jubilee art work competition, and his design will feature on the publicity material for the village’s Jubilee Celebrations to be held over the Bank Holiday weekend.

Jonny Wallace, deputy head teacher, said: “The children were all delighted to receive their Jubilee medal and I’m sure it’s something that they will treasure for a very long time to come.”
