LITTLE Downham teenager, Jordan Colwill, has played a pivotal part in shaping a plan of young people's priorities for the next three years.

Jordan, 16, a pupil at Downham Lodge School for boys with special educational needs, was among young people who made suggestions which were incorporated into the Cambridgeshire Children and Young People's Plan.

The plan sets out priorities and targets up to 2009 which were identified after a consultation exercise involving 1,850 children and young people in October 2005.

It was compiled by the Children and Young People's Strategic Partnership which includes Cambridgeshire County Council, East Cambridgeshire District Council, the police, schools and voluntary organisations among others.

Cllr Shona Johnstone, Cambridgeshire County Council's cabinet member for children and young people's services, said: "Children, young people and their families are at the heart of the partnership and the plan they have produced. What they have told us has been vital in setting our priorities. We particularly valued the contributions made by Jordan.

"With our partners, we are working to ensure that children and their families receive quicker and more joined up services, close to where they live and go to school, and we look to the Government to support us in delivering this vision.
