An Ely woman will celebrate the release of her debut album with a performance at Julia’s Tearooms.
Jo Ash began playing piano at the age of nine, working out that she took most of the enjoyment from creating her own pieces. She took lessons until she reached Grade 6 and then continued to self-teach...
She moved to the city from Newmarket in November last year, has spent two years making the album - but the final stages of its creation have been completed since being in Ely.
Jo’s album, titled ‘Constellations’, will be launched at Julia’s Tearooms on October 5 as part of their regular music nights.
Jo – who also fronts Cambridge rock band, Derecho - will perform most of the album tracks on the night, as well as a couple of songs from her previous EP releases.
Jo’s previous work includes singing in a professional covers band, writing and performing for a semi-pro rock jazz fusion band, and singing and playing on Mike Ellis’ album Me/Lp v.1.
