YOUNGSTERS at Sutton Nursery School blew out the candles on their fifth birthday cake this week.

The children, aged from 0-five years, from the Butterfly Day nursery, based at Sutton Methodist Church, were treated to a full-scale birthday party with jelly and ice cream on Friday.

Jo Spencer, who runs the nursery, said: "It's great being five. We got to have a proper children's party with games and had a great cake that my mum made. We bought some new toys for the kids, their parents came as well, and later on we had disco for the original kids that came in our first year.
