Stretham airman Jay Lyon collected his wings last Friday from Lord Astor at a ceremony at the Army Aviation Centre in Middle Wallop, Hampshire.
Sergeant Lyon, 31, was also presented with the Blackwood Trophy at the ceremony for achieving the best examination results during the army pilot course.
Having served in Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan, in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Jay will now be joining the Army Air Corps as a helicopter pilot.
Jay, an ex Soham Village College pupil, will be posted to Brunei in the summer to fly Bell 212 helicopters.
