A man has been jailed for three years after admitting causing the death of a grandfather from Fordham.
Appearing at Cambridge Crown Court on Friday, Conor Gosling, 20, pleaded guilty to causing the death of 68-year-old Anthony Pinney by dangerous driving
Mr Pinney, 68, of Isleham Road, suffered fatal injuries when the Honda 125cc motorbike he was riding was in collision with Gosling’s Fiat Punto on August 4 last year at the A142 junction with Northfield Road, Soham.
Mr Pinney’s, a retired painter and decorator, was descried by his family as “a very keen fisherman and photographer”.
They added: “He was a quiet man who enjoyed photographing wildlife and spending time with his children and grandson.”
Gosling, of Beauchamp Close, Eaton Socon, was arrested at the scene of the collision and was later charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
Half of his sentence will be served in prison and half will be served on licence.
Gosling was also disqualified from driving for four years.
