Haddenham Girl Guides raised more than £500 through a bag packing event last Saturday.
Volunteers from 1st Haddenham Guides offered shoppers at Sainsbury’s in Ely a helping hand by packing their shopping.
The group are busy raising funds to help towards their residential camp to Belgium later in the year and collected a total of £570.88 from shoppers.
Caroline Osborne, group leader said: “Thank you so much to Sainsbury’s for allowing us the opportunity to help and thank you to the customers for their generosity.
“This has been a huge boost to our fundraising efforts to enable us to visit Belgium and celebrate the centenary of WW1.”
Store manager Karen Watts added: “We always welcome the support of groups such as the guides and it’s great that we have been able to help raise funds towards their educational visit to Belgium.”
