AN Ely college has been named one of one of only two schools in Cambridgeshire to gain specialist IT status.

The City of Ely Community College became an official Microsoft IT Academy member on November 29. The college will be able to offer a wealth of specialist computer training on site, for businesses, and students.

Roy Stubbings, City of Ely Community College spokesman, said: "This will give the business and enterprise specialist school another string to its bow in providing opportunities for local youngsters businesses and the community as a whole.
